About Me

Hi! My name is Brandon Martz, I am very excited about this event that is scheduled to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy.

I have Duchenne's MD. The DMD makes some things more difficult for me like running and climbing stairs.  I also have trouble getting up from the floor, if I fall, I need help to get up.  Walking long distances is also a challenge for me so I use a scooter. I have a multitude of Doctors that oversee my care, I take 23 pills a day, and also watch my diet.

Sometimes I will seem like I’m not listening but I do hear and understand everything you say. Sometimes it is hard for me to answer questions but that is just part of my DMD, it is called a processing disorder, where the answers get stuck in my head, and I can’t get the answers from my Brain out of my mouth. I also sometimes have trouble explaining when something is wrong or bothering me.

I love to draw and make things out of boxes and egg cartons, etc.  I love to go camping, take golf cart rides with my Dad and play on the computer.

Mostly, I just get treated like everyone else. My mom and Dad tell me that we are all good at some things and not-so good at others.   They also tell me that I am a Martz and Martz’s don’t give up!! My Mom says I am the most determined boy she has ever met.  Thanks for taking the time to read this.
